Children may breathe through their mouth occasionally, especially when they are congested. When mouth breathing becomes a regular pattern, however, it may be worth taking a closer look.
Mouth breathing can have many possible causes, and the reason is not always dental. At Little Roots, we evaluate your child’s oral structures and function and consider how their breathing pattern may relate to their oral health, sleep, growth, and development.
When appropriate, we may recommend additional evaluation with your child’s pediatrician, ENT, allergist, sleep specialist, or another healthcare professional to better understand the underlying cause.
