Emergency Dental Treatment

Facial Swelling

Facial swelling associated with a tooth can be a sign that a dental infection has spread beyond the tooth and should be evaluated promptly.

At Little Roots, we’ll assess your child’s symptoms, identify the likely source, and determine the appropriate treatment or level of care. Depending on the severity, some children may require medication, dental treatment, or evaluation in a hospital setting.

If swelling is rapidly increasing or your child has difficulty breathing or swallowing, seek emergency medical care immediately.

This page describes clinical care in general terms and is written for parents. It is not advice about your individual child.
