Every child has a different risk for developing cavities, and that risk can change as they grow. A caries (cavity) risk assessment helps us understand the factors that may increase or decrease your child’s individual risk.
We consider your child’s dental history, diet, oral hygiene, fluoride exposure, medical history, previous cavities, and other factors to determine whether they are at low, moderate, or high risk.
At Little Roots, your child’s risk helps guide their individualized preventive plan, including visit frequency, X-rays, fluoride, sealants, and other recommendations.
This page describes clinical care in general terms and is written for parents. It is not advice about your individual child.
