Privacy notice
This notice describes how Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry handles information collected through this website. It covers the website only. Once the practice opens, the handling of patient records will be governed by our separate patient privacy practices, which we will provide to you directly.
What this website collects
This is a static informational website. It does not require an account, and it does not ask you to sign in.
The only information you can actively give us here is through our opening-list form, which appears on the New Patients and Contact pages:
- Parent or guardian first and last name
- Email address and a phone number
- Your preferred way of being contacted, and whether you agree to receive text messages
- The name of your dental insurance carrier, if you choose to give it. We never ask for a member or policy number.
- Your preferred time of day for appointments and how you heard about us, if you choose to say
- Anything you write in the optional message field
We use this only to contact you about opening at Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.
What we ask you not to send
Please do not use this website, or ordinary email, to send information about your child's health. That includes symptoms, diagnoses, medical or dental history, medications, treatment questions, or insurance member numbers.
A general website form is not a secure or appropriate place for health information. Tell us by phone or at the appointment instead, and it goes into your child's chart where it belongs. Once we are open, patient forms will be completed through a secure system.
If you have already sent us something you would rather not have, call us and we will remove it.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no advertising cookies. It embeds no social media pixels, no chat widget, no session recording, and no third-party fonts. The typefaces are served from our own domain.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive (for example from a search engine or a link), what kind of device and browser they use, their approximate region, and which buttons are used, such as calling us or joining the opening list. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on our domain to tell visits apart. It does not store your IP address, and it never receives your name, contact details, anything you type into our form, or anything about your child's health.
We have switched off Google's advertising features for this website, including Google signals and ad personalization, so this information is used for measurement only and not to show you ads. Google's own privacy policy applies to the data it processes. You can block Google Analytics on every website with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser; this website works the same either way.
The map in the footer of each page is provided by Google Maps. When it loads, Google receives the basic technical information any web request carries, such as your IP address and browser type, and Google's own privacy policy applies to that. We send Google nothing about you, and the map does not load until you scroll to the bottom of a page.
Children's information
This website is written for parents and guardians. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Our opening-list form asks only for a parent or guardian's own contact details. It asks nothing about your child, and we will gather what we need to plan a visit when we speak with you.
Where your information goes
Opening-list submissions are delivered to Little Roots Pediatric Dentistry and are seen only by our team. We keep them until we have contacted you about opening and you have either become a patient or told us you are not interested, after which we delete them.
Our website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are received by a small program that runs on our website host, Vercel, which checks them and sends them by email, through our email delivery provider Twilio SendGrid, to our practice inboxes. That program keeps no copy of its own and does not record what you typed in its logs. SendGrid handles each message in order to deliver it, under its own privacy policy, and link and open tracking are switched off for these messages.
Our practice email is hosted by Google Workspace, and only our team has access to it. When we reply to your request, we reply from that practice email.
Links to other websites
Some pages link to external organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry or the American Dental Association, and our directions link goes to a mapping service. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Your choices
- You can ask us what information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct it.
- You can ask us to delete it.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you, and we will remove you from the opening list.
To do any of these, call us at (616) 777-3206.
A note on legal compliance
This notice describes our practices in plain language. It is not a legal opinion, and the technical measures described here do not by themselves establish compliance with HIPAA or any other law. Our patient-facing privacy practices will be provided separately once the practice opens.
Changes to this notice
If our practices change, for example if we add a new analytics or form provider, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
