Individualized Care

First Dental Visits

Your child’s first dental visit is the beginning of a relationship with their oral health. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a child’s first dental visit when their first tooth appears or no later than their first birthday, with a Dental Home established by 12 months of age.

At Little Roots, first visits are tailored to your child’s age and comfort. We’ll examine their teeth and mouth, assess cavity risk, discuss brushing, fluoride, nutrition, habits, growth and development, and answer your questions.

Just as importantly, we want your child’s first experiences with dentistry to feel safe, positive, and welcoming.

This page describes clinical care in general terms and is written for parents. It is not advice about your individual child.
